Once the tooth is shaped your dentist takes a mold or a digital scan of your mouth. That way the dental lab knows how to make your new crown.<\/p>\r\n
\u2022 A temporary crown goes on to protect the tooth. It won\u2019t feel as natural as the crown.<\/p>\r\n
\u2022 Try not to pull at it with your tongue or bite foods on that side. It needs to stay in place.<\/p>\r\n
During your visit the temporary crown comes off. The dentist checks the crown against your tooth and your bite before cementing it into place.<\/p>\r\n
Sometimes it fits perfectly the time. Times, a small adjustment is needed around the edges or the biting surface. That\u2019s normal. Honestly I\u2019d a dentist take extra time to check the bite than rush this step.<\/p>\r\n
