Types of dentures

We offer three main types of denture. Acrylic dentures (from £495) are the most affordable option, using a gum-coloured acrylic base with acrylic teeth. Metal dentures (from £895) use a thin, precise cobalt-chrome metal framework with acrylic teeth — they are stronger, thinner and more comfortable than acrylic. Flexible dentures (from £695) use a soft, flexible nylon material with no metal clasps, making them virtually invisible and very comfortable.

The denture process

Getting dentures typically takes 4–6 appointments over 4–8 weeks. We take precise impressions of your mouth, record your bite and facial measurements, trial a wax prototype so you can assess the appearance before anything is finalised, and then fit the finished denture with final adjustments at a subsequent appointment.

Looking after your dentures

Dentures should be removed and cleaned after every meal where possible, and thoroughly cleaned before sleeping. Remove dentures overnight to allow your gums to rest. Handle carefully over a folded towel or basin of water to avoid breakage if dropped. Visit us regularly for gum and denture checks.
