Flexible dentures are made from a soft, lightweight thermoplastic nylon material — an alternative to traditional acrylic or metal dentures that many patients find more comfortable to wear. They have no metal clasps, making them far more discreet than conventional partial dentures.
The base material is a translucent, gum-coloured nylon that flexes slightly with mouth movements rather than being rigid like acrylic or metal. The clasps are made from the same tooth-coloured or gum-coloured material — making them almost invisible when worn. There are no metal components at all.
Flexible dentures are best suited to partial denture cases — they are not typically used for full arch replacements.
