Fillings and crowns can fall out or become loose at the most inconvenient times. A lost restoration leaves the underlying tooth exposed and vulnerable to further decay, sensitivity and fracture. It should be treated promptly.
Fillings and crowns have a finite lifespan and can become loose over time.
Biting on something hard or sticky can dislodge a crown or pull out a filling.
New decay at the margins of a filling or crown can undermine and dislodge it.
The adhesive cement holding a crown can wash out over time.
We will examine the tooth, clean the area and replace or recement the restoration at the same appointment where possible. If the tooth has suffered further damage underneath, additional treatment may be required before a permanent restoration is placed.
Prices confirmed at appointment. Written cost breakdown provided before any treatment begins.
